1. Acceptance

By creating an account on Oko Oko, downloading the app, or using any part of the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Oko Oko.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you via in-app notification or email (if you opted in) at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Oko Oko. By registering, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You are legally permitted to use dating services in your jurisdiction.
  • You have not been previously banned from Oko Oko.
  • You are not on any sex offender registry or similar list.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts of users found to be under 18, without refund.

3. Account rules

  • Real information only: Your name, age, photos, and profile details must be accurate and represent who you actually are.
  • One account per person: You may only maintain one Oko Oko account. Creating multiple accounts to evade a ban is prohibited.
  • Keep your credentials secure: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details. Notify us immediately at support@okookodating.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • No account sharing: Your account is personal and non-transferable.
  • Delete your account properly: Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account to permanently remove your data. Simply deleting the app does not close your account.

4. Prohibited content & behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited on Oko Oko and will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban without refund:

  • Harassing, threatening, abusing, or intimidating other users.
  • Sending unsolicited explicit or sexually graphic content.
  • Using Oko Oko for commercial solicitation, spam, pyramid schemes, or any for-profit purpose not authorised by us.
  • Impersonating another person, living or deceased, or creating a fake profile.
  • Sharing another user's private information without their explicit consent (doxxing).
  • Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access or collect data from Oko Oko.
  • Attempting to hack, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app's infrastructure.
  • Uploading AI-generated, stock, or fake profile photos. Our AI verification will reject these — persistent attempts will result in a ban.
  • Using Oko Oko for any illegal purpose under Canadian or Australian law.

Zero tolerance: We report credible threats of violence or child safety concerns to the relevant law enforcement authorities without prior notice.

5. Your content

You own your photos and profile content. By uploading them to Oko Oko, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display your content to other users within the app, solely for the purpose of facilitating matches and connections.

This licence ends when you delete your content or close your account. We will never use your photos, name, or likeness in advertising without your explicit written consent.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you upload — including photos of yourself and any images shared in chat.

6. Subscriptions & billing

Oko Oko Full Access: $7.99 CAD / AUD per month  ·  $59.99 CAD / AUD per year  ·  7-day free trial

  • Free tier: Browsing profiles and matching is free for all users.
  • Premium: Unlocks unlimited likes, the ability to see who liked your profile before you swipe, and priority support.
  • Free trial: New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Billing: All payments are processed exclusively by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We never handle or store your payment details.
  • Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • Trial reminder: We will send an email reminder 3 days before your free trial converts to paid — if you opted in to emails during registration.
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime through Settings → Subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play → Subscriptions (Android). Access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
  • Refunds: Refunds are governed by Apple's or Google's refund policies respectively. Australian users may also be entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law if the service is not as described — contact support@okookodating.com.
  • Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Price changes apply at your next renewal date.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice. Serious violations (harassment, threats, illegal activity) will result in an immediate permanent ban.

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of account closure, per our Privacy Policy.

If your account is terminated for violating these Terms, any unused subscription period will not be refunded.

8. Safety disclaimer

Oko Oko does not guarantee that you will find a match, relationship, or romantic partner. We do our best to create a safe community, but we cannot guarantee the behaviour of other users.

Always meet new matches in public places. Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, it probably is.

Use the Report and Block features in the app to flag any concerning behaviour. We review all reports within 24 hours.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian and Australian law, Oko Oko and its operators are not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.
  • Loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm.
  • The behaviour of other users, whether on the app or in person.
  • Temporary unavailability of the service due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Oko Oko will not exceed the amount you paid us in subscription fees in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law — including the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Oko Oko will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

If you are an Australian user and a dispute relates to your consumer rights under Australian law, you may also choose to bring that claim in Australian courts.
